Micro ATM vs MPOS: which one does your business need?

Both are compact card devices, but they solve different problems. Here is how to tell them apart.

Micro ATM: cash out for customers

A Micro ATM lets customers use their debit card at your counter for services such as cash withdrawal and balance enquiry — similar to a bank ATM, but in your shop. The cash comes from your counter.

MPOS: payments in for your business

Mobile point of sale (MPOS) is for accepting payments for goods and services. Depending on the setup, customers can pay by card, QR or other digital methods.

Quick comparison

A simple way to remember the difference:

  • Micro ATM — customers withdraw money from their bank account
  • MPOS — customers pay you for what they buy
  • Retail counters and agents often benefit from Micro ATM
  • Shops, delivery and service businesses often benefit from MPOS

Can you use both?

Yes. Many businesses offer both — cash withdrawal brings people in, and card acceptance makes it easier for them to buy. Our team can suggest the right setup for your counter.
